Clash between protesting farmers and cops takes place in Yamuna Nagar

New Delhi: Farmers' resentment against the Centre's agricultural laws is constantly increasing. In Yamunanagar on Saturday, farmers protested against the proposed BJP district level meeting. Haryana Transport Minister Mulchand Sharma was scheduled to attend the district level meeting of the BJP, but before that there was a scuffle between the police and the farmers. Angry farmers broke barricades with tractors after the BJP programme. Heavy police force has been deployed at the spot.

 

The BJP meeting was reportedly scheduled to be attended by all leaders including ministers Mulchand Sharma, Kanwar Pal Gurjar and party leader Ratanlal Kataria but BJP leaders faced opposition from farmers. Angry farmers broke the barricades with tractors. Many farmers climbed over the barricades and started shouting at the police. Heavy police force was deployed at the spot. Both sides came face to face. The police force has been alerted in view of the possibility of clashes.

Earlier, talking to the media, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that if the Government of India wants to hold talks, we are ready. We will have a schedule to visit Delhi on the 22nd. The Parliament Session will begin on 22nd July. From 22nd July, 200 of our people will go to the Parliament to stage a protest.
