Chandigarh: PM Narendra Modi in his address to the nation on Friday morning announced the withdrawal of 3 new agricultural laws. PM Modi said that we could not explain to the farmers, though we had brought these new laws from the good deed for the benefit of the farmers. Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has also tweeted about the farmers' agitation following PM Modi's announcement. Anil Vij wrote in his tweet that farmers should now immediately return to their homes and engage in their work.

Anil Vij tweeted, 'All farmers' organizations should express their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji for his announcement to withdraw all the three agricultural laws on Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Prakash Utsav and immediately lift their dharnas and go to their homes and engage in their regular work.' Earlier, PM Modi had said in his address that, We made the crop insurance scheme more effective. Bring more farmers under its ambit. The old rules also changed so that more and more farmers could get compensation easily in times of disaster.

He said that due to this change, compensation of more than one lakh crore rupees has been given to our farmer brothers and sisters in the last 4 years. We also brought insurance and pension facilities to small farmers and farm laborers. One lakh 62 thousand crore rupees were transferred directly to their bank accounts to meet the needs of small farmers.
