Government announces lessons of Bhagavad Gita in schools from next year in the state

Chandigarh: From the upcoming academic year in Haryana, schools in the state will be taught to recite the verses of the Bhagavad Gita. State CM Manohar Lal Khattar has announced this at the International Gita Mahotsav. He said the verses of the Gita will be part of the syllabus of classes V and VII. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also attended the Gita Mahotsav celebrations.

'Gita Mahotsav to go to international level':-
Speaking on the sidelines of the function, CM Manohar Lal Khattar said that the youth should instill the essence of the Gita in their lives. He has conveyed the message to all of us in the Gita. Apart from this, he also announced to take the annual International Gita Mahotsav on a large scale. Chief Minister Khattar said that a museum on Mahabharata theme is being built at a cost of Rs 205 crore on two acres of land at 'Geetasthali' in Jyotisar. According to the CM, like Ramlila from next year, Krishna Utsav will also be organized due to the International Gita Festival.

The program will last for 6 days:-
According to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the nearly 6-day festival will showcase various events related to the life of Lord Krishna through a tableau. Chief Minister Khattar said it will also have a light sound show. The CM said the Bhagavad Gita is also a source of inspiration for the country's freedom fighters.
