The most noxious in the country was recorded at Ambala, Haryana on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. At the time period when the stubble burning is at its peak, Haryana`s city recorded the highest AQI on a day. The data says 7 out of 10 most polluted cities were in Uttar Pradesh and 3 in Haryana.

AQI crosses 450 in Delhi, people are facing trouble in breathing

The Central Pollution Control Board report says, Ambala logged the worst air quality at 452 micrograms per cubic meter, followed by Uttar Pradesh`s Moradabad at 425, Baghpat at 420, Muzaffarnagar at 412 and Haryana`s Fatehabad at 413, and Jind at 408. The list is continued by Uttar Pradesh`s Ghaziabad, which recorded air quality of 389 micrograms per cubic metre, Hapur at 380, Meerut at 374, Haryana`s Yamunanagar at 369 and Greater Noida at 368.

The Ministry of Earth Sciences reports states, the share of stubble burning in Punjab, Haryana and other adjoining states in Delhi`s air pollution was only 5% for Wednesday, which was 40% on Sunday. Due to the shift in wind direction ministry warns of increase in contribution. A layer of smoky haze spreads over the  Delhi-NCR on Wednesday, as air quality of the region hit `very poor` levels at 343 micrograms per cubic metre stubble burning from the adjoining states and slow wind speed contributed for the haze.
