Chandigarh: Three tourist buses collided near Healing Touch Hospital on the Ambala-Delhi highway in Haryana on Monday morning. Five people were killed and 10 others injured in the accident. The injured passengers have been admitted to the civil hospital in Ambala city for treatment. Meanwhile, police have seized the bodies of the deceased and sent them for postmortem, and started investigating the incident.

Police have informed that the deceased have been identified as Rahul (21), a resident of Jharkhand, Pradeep Kumar (22) of Uttar Pradesh, Mena Bai (4) of Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarh, Rohit Kumar (53), and unidentified passengers. Two buses were badly damaged in the accident and had to be removed from the highway with the help of cranes. Police said the three buses that met with the accident were private. According to police information, three tourist deluxe buses from Katra to Delhi collided early this morning. Police who rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident evacuated the passengers trapped in the buses after a huge effort with the help of locals.

Police said all the passengers were sleeping in buses at the time of the accident. The two buses coming from behind collided when the front bus stopped suddenly. However, as all the three buses were plying on the highway, traffic on the highway continued even after the major accident.
