Union Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal made an announcement on Saturday, stating that Haryana will host the fourth season of the Khelo India Youth Games to be organized in 2021. The event of these games will be held in Panchkula after the Tokyo Olympics next year. Along with this, the dates of the event will also be announced after the Tokyo Olympics. The Tokyo Olympics are scheduled to begin from July 23 to August 8.

In this statement through video conference, Rijiju said in his statement, 'Khelo India Youth Games in general are held in January every year. However, this time due to the corona epidemic we have canceled it. Although I am confident that by the time we host the Games, the Corona epidemic will be destroyed. We will be able to host games on the same scale with the participation of entire states and more than 10,000 participants. '

Haryana has given very good performance in these games. The state stood second in the medal table in 2019 and 2020. In the previous edition, Haryana had won a total of 200 medals, including 68 gold, 60 silver and 72 bronze medals. Manohar said, 'Haryana as a state has always promoted sports in a big way, and has supported its athletes. Hosting Haryana's Khelo India Youth Games shows our commitment to the Games. Panchkula has accommodation facilities for a large number of participants. The same Haryana is now very excited about hosting the fourth level of Khelo India Youth Games in Haryana.
