Hathras case:  SP workers lathi-charged by UP police in Lucknow

Lucknow: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi met the bereaved family in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh last Saturday. Today, on the directions of Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav, the party's 11-member delegation was going to Hathras. The SP delegation arrived in the village along with a crowd of activists to meet the aggrieved family. The police have had to flush out all the workers due to violation of section 144.

Meanwhile, SP workers are shouting slogans in the victim's village. The SP workers are now engaged in the removal of police. Former SP MP Dharmendra Yadav was also present with the activists. The magistrate had already allowed 5 Samajwadi party people to meet. Samajwadi Party leaders have been stopped by the police along with a mob between section 144.

Akhilesh Yadav, former UP CM, had directed only an 11-member delegation to go to Hathras. The delegation was led by UP SP President Naresh Uttam Patel. The delegation included Ramji Lal Suman, Dharmendra Yadav, Akshay Yadav, Jugal Kishore Valmiki, Jaswant Yadav, Udaivir Singh, Sanjay Lather, Atul Pradhan, Ram Karan Nirmal, Ram Gopal Baghel.
