MBBS/BDS seats to be reserved for Covid warriors’ children: Center

New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has announced a new category in the guidelines for selection and nomination of candidates for MBBS / BDS seats under the Central Pool for the academic year 2020-21. The category is named 'Wards of Covid Warriors'. The seats falling under the Central Pool will elect candidates whose parents died during treatment of Corona patients through this category.

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said that it will honour the sacrifice of all the Corona Warriors who selflessly served the Corona Infectors. Seats will be reserved under the Central Pool for the children of Corona Warriors who lost their lives due to Corona. Dr Harshvardhan said that the move is intended to honour the great contribution made by Corona Warriors in the treatment and management of patients. Five Central Pool MBBS seats have been reserved under this category for the year 2020-21.

Dr Harshvardhan further stated that from 90 to 99% corona can be avoided by taking only precautions. You can protect yourself by taking small precautions from this deadly virus, such as wearing a good quality mask, maintaining social distancing and taking care of hand hygiene.
