Health Ministry started trial of ayurvedic medicines for coronavirus treatment

New Delhi: Efforts are being made to find the drug of coronavirus epidemic across the world. In this sequence, clinical trials of traditional Ayurvedic medicines like Ashwagandha, Yashtimadhu, Guduchi Pippali, Ayush-64 have started in India. This information has been given by the Union Ministry of Health.

On Thursday, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said that a clinical trial has been started on health workers and people working in high-risk areas. (CSIR) and will be completed with the technical support of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Along with this, testing will be done as standard care along with existing measures.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik on Thursday jointly launched three Union AYUSH Ministry based studies related to coronavirus. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of AYUSH has been launched as prophylaxis for clinical research studies on Ayurveda interventions and as an add-on for the care of coronavirus. The ministry has also developed an 'Aayush Sanjeevani' mobile app to collect data of a large population with a target of 50 lakh people.
