New Delhi: Kerala journalist Siddique Kappan was arrested by Uttar Pradesh police last year. Kappan was arrested while he was on his way to his village after the killing of a gang-rape victim from Hathras district. Hearing Kappan's release petition, the apex court summoned medical reports from the UP government, asking it to submit Kappan's medical reports by April 28.

Hearing the case, the court asked if you have medical records. Submit medical records by tomorrow. The UP government denied Kappan's wife's allegation that she had been chained to a hospital. The next hearing in the case in the apex court will be held on Wednesday i.e. April 28.

The Kerala Journalists Association has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking bail on medical grounds for Kappan. The Kerala Journalists Association in a petition filed in the apex court said that Kappan is not in good health and hence should be admitted to the AIIMS in Delhi. The next hearing in the apex court on a petition filed by the Kerala Journalists Association will be held on April 28.
