The CBI had sought an adjournment of the hearing as Solicitor General Tushar Mehta was busy with the land acquisition case in the Constitution Bench. Justice R Bhanumati has said that if Tushar Mehta is busy in another matter, then prepare another option. The court said that the hearing would not be postponed today. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing on behalf of Chidambaram, read the Delhi High Court's judgment, stating that there was no possibility of Chidambaram running away nor tampering with the evidence.
