New Delhi: Monsoon is in full swing in some parts of the country, especially in Madhya Pradesh. Meteorological Department has issued an alert in 32 districts of the state. A large part of the state has been affected by floods due to heavy rains. In 11 districts including Bhopal, Sehore, Mandla, Narsinghpur and Jabalpur, the capital of Madhya Pradesh was left in schools and anganwadis. Many lower settlements of these cities are submerged in water. Several feet of water is flowing over the bridges and culverts. Road connectivity of many villages and cities has been lost. Sukni river in Harda district filled 3-4 feet water in district jail.

300-500 people have been shifted to the camps. It has been raining in Hoshangabad for two days. The holiday has been declared in many schools in the district. A high alert has been issued in villages situated along the banks of Narmada in Dhar district. The water level of the Shipra river has increased due to rains in and around Indore. Many temples built by the river in Ujjain are inundated. Khandwa-Morattakka bridge and Jabalpur-Narsinghpur State Highway have been closed. Two people have swept away while crossing the overflowing Venganga River Bridge in Seoni.

An alert has also been issued for heavy rains in Maharashtra and Andhra. After the rise in the Krishna and Varuna rivers in Sangli district in Maharashtra, the administration has shifted people living in low-lying areas to safer places. The Andhra Pradesh administration has issued a warning of first-class flooding in view of the increased water level in the four dams on the Godavari river.
