Mumbai: Rain that started late Friday evening in many parts of Maharashtra continues on Saturday. The situation has worsened after rains in many areas. Mayanagari Mumbai is once again reeling under heavy rains. The Met Department has issued a red alert for Mumbai till Sunday. In Mumbai, two people were reported killed in separate incidents, three are missing and one person is said to be injured.

Meanwhile, roads in Mumbai and adjoining areas have been flooded. In addition, 4 girls have been swept away in waterfalls near the driving range in Navi Mumbai. Four students who went for a picnic at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai have been reported drowned. The fire brigade's vehicle, which was on the spot when four people were thought to have drowned, carried out a rescue operation. The body of a girl has been recovered during the operation. However, the search for 3 bodies is still continuing.

Due to high tide and rise in water levels, suburban services are suspended between Kurla-Sion and DN fast lines and between Kurla-Chinabhatti-up and DN port lines. People are forced to walk to other stations due to stoppage of local trains on the way to the beach. In Maharashtra, the Godavari river is flowing above the danger mark due to heavy rains.
