New Delhi: After the Municipal Corporation (MCD) elections in Delhi, today i.e. on January 6, 2023, the election of the post of mayor, deputy mayor, and members of the Standing Committee is to be held. Councilors have to take oaths before voting. But, before this, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councilors created a ruckus in the house. During this, there was also a scuffle. AAP councilors are opposing the first swearing-in of nominated members.

Earlier, the AAP objected to Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena appointing BJP councillor Satya Sharma as the presiding officer for the mayoral election. At the same time, the Congress has decided not to participate in voting in this election. Meanwhile, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted, "How much more will the BJP fall for hiding their misdeeds in the MCD? If you can't respect people's decision, then why elections?"
The councilors are to be sworn in before voting in the mayoral election. Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, AAP councillors created a ruckus. In fact, AAP councillors are opposing the first oath-taking of nominated members. During this time, there was a clash between AAP and BJP councillors.
