The weather has improved after the heavy snowfall in the Kashmir Valley, but the problems of the people remain. Hundreds of Wadi areas are still cut off from the district headquarters, while electricity and water supply is stalled in most areas.

There is an avalanche danger in many hilly areas, especially in the high mountain areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Shopian, Baramulla, Anantnag and Budgam. The administration has advised the people of these areas to take precautions. The cold wave has intensified in Himachal after the rain and snowfall.
