Dehradun: The work of clearing the frozen snow till Hemkund Sahib has been completed by the Indian Army and Gurdwara Trust Hemkund Sahib. The soldiers of the Indian Army on Sunday cleared the road for traffic to visit Hemkund Sahib, the world's highest gurudwara situated at an altitude of 15,200 feet in the Garhwal Himalayas. The Yatra of Hemkund Sahib was also halted for two years due to the Corona period, but all preparations are being made to start the Yatra of Hemkund Sahib this year.

 

Sikh devotees are expected to reach here from Punjab, Haryana and Delhi as well as from abroad. The Gurdwara committee has completed the preparations so that the devotees do not face any kind of problem during the journey. With the help of the Indian Army, about 4 km of snow has been cleared from 7 to 8 feet on foot. Indian Army personnel have cut glaciers as large as 8 to 9 feet, to make a passage between them for pilgrims.
