Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowler Kuldeep Yadav struggled to leave an impact with while being taken to cleaners time and time again by the opposite team's batsmen in IPL 2019. Amid one of the lowest phases of his career so far, Kuldeep revealed how a message from Former skipper MS Dhoni helped him keep afloat and look forward to the upcoming ICC World Cup.
In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, that he wasn’t negative but wasn’t positive either at when he was hit for so many runs in one over by Moeen Ali in a match against RCB.

With the ICC World Cup to follow soon, fans feared if the shattered confidence would prevent Kuldeep from being his usual self in the showpiece event. It was a message instilling confidence in him from Dhoni that helped the young spinner not sink deep in disappointment. The bowler said, “...Then Mahi bhai (Dhoni) passed on a message that I shouldn’t lose confidence, I need to focus on my game and that really helped me a lot.”
He further added, “He has always been a pillar of support ever since I made my debut. People only talk about how he helps us from behind the stumps but it’s actually the work, the advice he gives us in-between or after the matches, that does a world of good.”

About the recent 'Dhoni getting wrong with his tips sometimes' comment, Kuldeep also clarified that it was only a joke and wasn't taken in the right context.
