Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Mukhtar Ansari, who is lodged in Banda jail in Uttar Pradesh, has suffered a severe setback from the Lucknow bench of the High Court in connection with the FIR of possession of fake papers. The high court has dismissed Mukhtar's plea seeking quashing of his FIR. A chart sheet has been filed against Ansari's two sons in the entire case. On the other hand, Mukhtar's involvement is under discussion.

Mukhtar and his family are being accused of capturing the unclaimed property from fake documents in Lucknow and carrying out the construction work. A bulldozer has already been operated on the property by the Lucknow administration in the case. An FIR has been registered against Mukhtar Ansari and his two boys Abbas and Omar Ansari in the case. In a bench of Justices Ramesh Sinha and Saroj Yadav, AAG Vinod Shahi, appearing for the state government, said that a charge sheet has been filed in the case.

It may be mentioned that an FIR was lodged by the accountant against Ali and Abbas, the two sons of Bahubali MLA Mukhtar Ansari, at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow, alleging possession of land and illegal construction through documents. The LDA had taken action in the matter and demolished the construction.
