Punjab: The Punjab-Haryana High Court has stayed the notification of the Punjab government to reduce the fees for the PG session for the PG course at the Order Medical University Bathinda. The High Court, while issuing an interim order, clarified that if the petition is rejected, the students will return the amount of fee gap to the university with 7% interest.

While filing the petition, it was said on behalf of the university that it had issued its prospectus as per the approval and act of the Punjab government. Under which the fees were fixed. The university completed its first counseling and many students also deposited the fees. Meanwhile, suddenly the Punjab government issued a notification to reduce fees in medical institutions. According to the order of the university state government, the fees that the university had filed in the prospectus were reduced. On the petition, the High Court had issued a notice to the Punjab government and summoned the reply. When the petition reached the hearing, the Punjab government appealed to give more time for a reply. The High Court said that this is such a serious matter, despite this, it is being relaxed by the Punjab government.

In its statement, the High Court said that second counseling is to start from June 24, and it has become necessary to issue an interim order. The High Court has stayed the notification of the Punjab government to reduce fees while allowing the university to be collected as per the prospectus. If the decision is against the university, the university will refund the extra fees deposited by the students with 7% interest.
