New Delhi: Today (February 18, 2022), the 6th day hearing again took place in the Karnataka High Court regarding the Hijab controversy. During this, the lawyers of the petitioner side presented their arguments before the court. However, even today no decision could be reached on this matter and the hearing in the court will continue tomorrow. Today, the hearing was held on the basis of the remaining 7 petitions in the court. During the hearing today, the Advocate General (AG), on behalf of the state government, said that hijab is not a necessary part of Islam.

Let us inform that since February 14, a large bench of Chief Justice Rituraj Awasthi, Justice Krishna S Dixit, Justice Zaibunnisa Mohiuddin Qazi is hearing this matter. Earlier, arguments were given in the court in favor of hijab towards girl students. Appearing on behalf of the government in the matter, the Advocate General said that, 'The uniform was prescribed in 2018. No problem till December 2021. Suddenly a group of girl students who are also the petitioners approached the principal and insisted that they would come to the college wearing hijab.

The Advocate General further said that since December 31, this incident happened when some girls went to the principal and said that they would come to the college wearing hijab. When this insistence happened, the CDC wanted to investigate. CDC led by MLA on 01.01.2022. Meanwhile, in yesterday's hearing, AM Dar, the lawyer for 5 girl students, demanded from the court that the government's order will affect those who wear hijab. It is unconstitutional.
