Due to a major lapse of the information and public relations department (DIPR) of the state, which is considered to be the face of the state government, the finance department has not been able to get the suggestions of the general public to prepare the budget on e-mail. In the release issued by the DIPR seeking suggestions by the Finance Department, the Finance Department's e-mail ID was incorrectly published. Due to which people are mailing their suggestions on the wrong e-mail ID but it is getting back. The special thing is that the Finance Department has fixed December 24 as the last date for making suggestions. The state government had started the process of preparing the state budget for the year 2020-21.
In order to make the budget more public-centric, the government had invited suggestions from the general public, industries, business, and farming organizations for the budget to seek participation and views of various stakeholders of the society in the budget. Suggestions can be sent till 24 December. Along with this, it can also be sent to the office of Additional Chief Secretary Finance through a letter. These suggestions can be given on increasing revenue receipts, expenditure control, and other related matters so that transparency, openness, reactive and participative approach can be promoted in budget formulation. DIPR issued an incorrect email ID in place of budgetidea.hp@gmail.com, the correct email ID of the Finance Department.

Due to this, people are having difficulty in giving their suggestions. The special thing is that when the finance department's website is clicked on the given link to get the information related to the suggestion, it goes directly to the same press release of the DIPR in which the wrong email ID is published. When some people complained to Finance Department officials about not being able to e-mail, then the email ID came out wrong. Now the Finance Department is considering whether to extend the last date of December 24 to take suggestions. Every citizen can send suggestions for preparing the budget keeping public interest in mind, the state government has done this exercise to give suggestions using modern technology. A media reporter also appeals to the people to contribute their quality in the preparation of the government's budget and to improve the financial condition of the state.
