Srinagar: Two special police officers were injured in a firing incident in Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday night. Both these officers were engaged in the security of a filtration plant in the Semina Colony in the city. He has been identified as Ajay Kumar and Mohammad Salim. Both have been admitted to the hospital. The situation of both is out of danger.

As soon as the information was received, the security forces surrounded the area and started a search operation. Several rounds of firing took place near the filtration plant around 10 pm. On hearing the sound, security forces laid siege to Semana Colony in the guise of terrorist attacks. During this time both the SPOs were injured. Sources said that both were injured in the firing of the suspects, but police say that the initial investigation does not point towards the terror attack.

The incident is being investigated. Sources have said that the house of Jehangir Saruri, a Hizbul Mujahideen militant active for over three decades, is situated between Sunar Bari and Tangbadi. There is a filtration plant in Semina Colony here. It is said that during the movement, the terrorists shot at the SPO. Jahangir became active with the introduction of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He is said to be the oldest terrorist of Hizbul.
