New Delhi: There is a political debate in the country over the temple mosque. The dispute is deepening after the Shivling was found in the Gyanvapi Mosque. The controversy over Mathura Janmabhoomi, Qutub Minar and Taj Mahal is also deepening. In such a situation, historian Irfan Habib has made such a statement which can give rise to controversies. Irfan Habib has said that yes, it was Aurangzeb who broke the temples of Mathura Kashi. There was no secret work in those days. He said that history records up to the date of demolition of the temple.

Irfan Habib said that the temple of Banaras was demolished by Aurangzeb and the temple of Mathura is also included in it. Which was built by King Veer Singh Bundela during the reign of Jahangir. He clearly said that there are two main temples which were demolished by Aurangzeb. Irfan Habib says that there is nothing that is new. Everything is recorded in history. It is being claimed that the historians have not said anything, this is wrong. Everything is recorded in history, but the thing is how far back you want to go. He said Aurangzeb had done the wrong thing by demolishing the temple, similarly, will the government do wrong now. The incident of breaking the temple is recorded in the date of history. However, he also said that what was made in 1670, can you break it today, is against the Monuments Act.

He said that the stones of the temples that were demolished were planted in the mosques. He said that there is talk of finding a Shivling in the Gyanvapi mosque, but the petition that was filed did not even mention this. There is a law to make a Shivling. You can't tell everything. Shivling was not mentioned in the case that was filed. But now the Shivling is being presented as an issue. After this statement of Irfan Habib, it is clear that Aurangzeb broke the temples, which are like Mecca-Medina or Vatican City for Hindus. But will Hindus still not get the right to worship in those monuments? Should the wrongdoings have by the invader not be rectified and should the Muslim community themselves come forward and accept these mistakes and take the initiative to correct them, so that brotherhood can be established in the country?
