Indore: Indore, considered the economic capital of Madhya Pradesh, set another record on Thursday morning. The city's daughter Ritu Narwale drove the pink bus launched for women on the BRTS corridor as a trial run. Ritu has also become the first woman bus driver in the state. At 7 a.m., Ritu successfully completed the trial by running a bus from Rajiv Gandhi Chowk to Niranjanpur and Niranjan Pur to Rajiv Gandhi chowk.

Ritu had trained to drive a bus on the corridor between 3 am and 5 am every day for a month and after being fully trained, the steering of the bus started from Thursday with full confidence. Tell you that two eye buses have been operating for women in Indore since 2019. The woman was only in the role of a nurse in these buses so far, but will now soon be seen as a driver. Pink buses were introduced in the BRTS corridor by Atal Indore City Transport Services Limited (AICTSL) in the city in February 2020 to provide safe and convenient public transport facilities to women.

The idea behind launching this scheme was that these special buses for women would also have drivers and conductors as women, but these buses were being operated by male drivers for a long time due to the non-finding of women drivers. Now, some time ago, the management started training two women bus drivers when they got them. When Ritu Narwale, a female driver, appeared completely perfect after about 1 month of training, she was given a chance to drive a bus for passengers for the first time at 7 am after 2 hours of training between 3 am and 5 am on Thursday.
