Lucknow: Former Uttar Pradesh CM and Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav's is all set to get another jolt. As per the information received, The Centre has decided to withdraw his Z+ category 'black cat' commando security cover. According to sources, the Union Home Ministry has recently conducted a comprehensive assessment of the security of VIPs who have secured security under the CRPF.

It was decided to withdraw the NSG cover given to Akhilesh Yadav. During a thorough review of the security of VIPs guarded under the CRPF recently by the Union Home Ministry, it has been stipulated that the security of about two dozen VIPs besides Akhilesh Yadav will either be withdrawn or curtailed. After this review, it was decided to withdraw the specific National Security Guard (NSG) cover provided to Akhilesh Yadav.

However, no official announcement has been made so far. After Akhilesh Yadav became the CM in 2012, the then UPA government at the Centre gave him this protection. Currently, a team of 22 NSG commandos armed with state-of-the-art weapons remains guarded by the SP chief.
