As Delhi faces a severe water crisis amid soaring temperatures, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has urgently appealed to the central government and the BJP to persuade the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to assist in meeting Delhi's water needs.

Kejriwal's Plea for Cooperation
On Friday, CM Kejriwal emphasized the need for cooperation over politics to address the escalating water shortage. He pointed out that while the demand for water has surged due to the heat, the supply from neighboring states has decreased.

"We must solve this issue together," Kejriwal wrote in a post on X. "BJP colleagues are protesting against us, but this won't solve the problem. I request everyone to set politics aside and work together to provide relief to Delhi's residents. If the BJP persuades its governments in Haryana and UP to supply water to Delhi for a month, it will be greatly appreciated by the people here. We can't control the scorching heat, but together, we can alleviate its impact."

Residents Struggle Amid Water Shortage
Delhi's citizens are bearing the brunt of the water scarcity. Despite the government's efforts, including setting up a "war room" and promising "Har Ghar Jal" (Water for Every Home), many areas are still facing acute shortages.

Residents in areas like Chanakyapuri's Sanjay Camp and Geeta Colony are particularly hard-hit. They endure long waits in the blazing heat, hoping to fill at least one bucket from water tankers that frequently fail to meet the demand. Despite numerous applications to the government, their pleas for sufficient water supply remain largely unaddressed.

Call for Immediate Action
The dire situation has prompted Kejriwal to urge the central government and BJP to take immediate action. He insists that by working together, they can mitigate the crisis and provide much-needed relief to Delhi's residents.
