Lucknow: Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni's first reaction has come after the BJP returned to a thumping majority in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. He attributed the BJP's victory to good governance and better law and order. Ajay Mishra Teni said, "We were saying from the very beginning that due to the way the centre is working under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and the state government under the leadership of Yogi, we will once again come to the majority. If the law and order situation in UP was not better, then we would not have got a majority.''
Ajay Mishra Teni is an MP from the Lakhimpur seat and BJP has won a landslide victory in all the 8 assembly seats of the district. It is believed that the impact of the farmers' movement has not been seen on the results of the election and due to this, the people have given such a big support to the BJP. Law and order was important to issue in the UP elections. From CM Yogi Adityanath, PM Narendra Modi to Home Minister Amit Shah, all the veteran leaders were constantly raising the issue of law and order. It is being told that three issues like ration, administration and women's safety have served to give the BJP an edge.
On October 3 last year, Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni, was accused of trampling farmers with a car in Lakhimpur. Not only this, his resignation was being sought due to this incident and the farmer agitators had included it in many of their demands. However, no action was taken against him by the central government. Along with this, Ashish Mishra is also out on bail at present, which has been challenged in the Supreme Court on behalf of the farmers. The court has decided to hear the petition on Tuesday.
