BHOPAL: The Indian government is launching a new program called "NAKSHA" (National Geospatial Knowledge-based Land Survey of Urban Habitations) to improve urban land records. This initiative, part of the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program, will use modern technology to make land records more accurate and reliable.
Launching tomorrow in 152 Cities, Including 10 in Madhya Pradesh, the NAKSHA program will combine aerial and ground surveys with GIS technology to help better manage urban land. This will make property ownership records clearer, improve urban planning, and make land-related processes easier. With detailed maps and accurate data, cities can plan better, and buying or selling property will become much smoother.
On Tuesday, February 18, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch the program from Raisen district. As part of the event, they will also start a drone survey and flag off the "Watershed Yatra" in Madhya Pradesh. Other key officials, including Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel and Revenue Minister Shri Karan Singh Verma, will also be present.
Pilot Project in 152 Cities
The NAKSHA program is being introduced as a pilot project in 152 cities across India, including 10 cities in Madhya Pradesh from 9 different districts. These cities inlcude Shahganj, Chhanera, Alirajpur, Depalpur, Dhar Kothi, Meghnagar, Makhan Nagar (Babai), Vidisha, Sanchi, Unhel.
Why is the "NAKSHA" Program Important?
According to Commissioner of Land Records, Mrs. Anubha Srivastava, this program will modernize urban land surveys using advanced geospatial technology. It will bring more transparency, efficiency, and accuracy to land management.
