Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the year 2014 and the purpose of this campaign was to inspire the Indians to keep their surroundings clean by following the footsteps of Gandhiji. The positive results of this entire campaign were seen across the country.

How did the toilet make life easier

Earlier People had a habit of defecating in the open but Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has helped in stopping open defecation to a great extent. People started constructing toilets in their homes, rejecting open defecation. The government has encouraged people to build toilets in their homes by providing financial help in the construction of toilets. Due to the availability of toilets in homes, women do not have to go in the open.

The construction of toilets has reduced a large amount of dirt. The number of toilets increased compared to the earlier, due to which people make toilets easily available at any place. Due to this facility, the number of open defecation people has come down drastically. Due to the availability of adequate toilets in the cities, people urinating here and there started using the toilet. This change has spread awareness in the minds of people about dirt, which shows the success of this entire campaign. Just as people used to spread the dirt anywhere, not using the toilet. It has decreased. Construction of the toilet is still going on to stop open defecation completely.
