New Delhi: The Delhi government has announced a subsidy for the installation of electric vehicle chargers in the capital. Thereafter, an EV charger would cost the common man Rs 2,500. Know how to apply for this charger and how much will be the bill...

Delhi government's subsidy on EV charger:-
Delhi government has announced a subsidy of Rs 6,000 for each EV charger point in house, shop, mall, residential apartment, college etc. This subsidy is to be given for the initial 30,000 charging points. Anyone can apply for this and the government has designed a single window system, simplifying its process. By which customers can apply for it by filling just one form like mobile or 'Google Form.'

Apply on old connection:-
If you want to apply for an EV charger with your old electricity connection then you have to go to google form like this link http://125.22.84.50:9810/DSM/frmLoginWeb.aspx and Here you have to log in by entering the CA number of your electricity bill. The default password is 12345. After that, you can change it. Or you can also apply for it by calling 19123. The government has also issued a WhatsApp number for this.

Prefer favourite EV charger:-
Three companies supplying electricity in Delhi have tie-ups with about 10 EV charger companies. When you apply for your EV charger, you can choose your favourite among these. After making the selection, you will have to provide some necessary information and the installation process of your EV charger will be completed.

Submit just these documents:-
For the installation of the EV charger, you will have to give an ID proof, mobile number. With this, the installation of your EV charger will be confirmed and you will receive a receipt containing information related to payment, date of installation etc.

When to get a new connection of EV charger:- 
The government has also given the facility of getting new connections for getting EV charger at home. For this, you can take pre-paid meter connection. All you have to do is go to the website of the electricity company in your area. There you have to apply for a new connection by going to the link of EV Mobility. 

How much will the electricity bill will come?
Now it is necessary to know that how much will be the electricity bill if the EV charger is installed. So the government has fixed the price of Rs 4.5 per unit of electricity for an EV charger. In such a situation, if you use 100 units of electricity for an EV charger, then your bill will be Rs 450. But on this amount, you will also have to pay tax, service charge fee etc.
