2 1/2 cups dry peas
A onion finely chopped
A tomato finely chopped
Two green chilies finely chopped
Two pinches of baking soda
A large spoon tamarind sauce
A large spoon green chutney
Juice of one lemon
A small spoon chaat masala
A small spoon coriander powder
A small spoon garam masala
A large spoon finely chopped coriander
Two to three papads
First wash the peas with good water and soak them for four to five hours. If you want, you can also soak peas overnight. As much as the peas will blossom, they will hug as well.
On the second day in the morning throw the peas soaked in water and pour it into the cooker with good water. Also add a little salt and two pinches of baking soda. Now wait for three to four whistles. This will make your peas melt well.
Now put oil in a pan and heat it on medium heat. Add cumin seeds to this oil and add tomatoes, onions and fry for two minutes.
Then add coriander powder, garam masala, chaat masala and other spices to the boiled peas and mix it well.
After this, add fried onions and tomatoes in this mixture again. Mix it well. Also put salt in the peas.
Lastly, add tamarind and green chutney to the peas and crush the papadis from above. After this, garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves. Now your pea pea chaat is ready to serve.
