In the case of gang rape in Dehradun, the police has decided to conduct a forensic investigation of the CNG bus in which the incident took place. During this investigation, the forensic team will collect evidence from the bus. However, the investigation will not be so easy, because the bus continued to run on the Dehradun-Delhi route even after the incident. During this time, the bus has also been cleaned, which has increased the risk of evidence being affected.
Disclosure of the incident and investigation so far
During the investigation, it has come to light that on the night of 12th August, a teenager was gang-raped in a CNG bus number UK 07 PA 5299 in the ISBT premises of Dehradun. After this, the teenager was taken to the booth of CWC (Child Welfare Committee) and from here, after registering the information in the general diary of the police, she was sent to Balika Niketan.
When a case was registered in this matter on 17 August, the police immediately started looking for the bus in which the incident took place. During this time, the bus driver was preparing to take the bus to Delhi, but the police stopped him and took the bus into their custody.
Just one more in doubt
Apart from this, another Volvo bus, whose number is UK 07 PA 3999, is also under suspicion. It is being told that the helper of this bus is also accused of being involved in the gang rape. This bus was also continuously running on the Dehradun-Rishikesh route and carrying passengers since the incident.
Difficulties in gathering evidence
Since the buses were still running after the incident and have been cleaned, it may be difficult to collect evidence during forensic investigation. The police is now worried that important evidence may have been erased due to cleaning, which may cause problems in punishing the culprits. At present, the police have taken both the buses into custody and the forensic team is engaged in investigation. Now only further investigation will make it clear whether any concrete evidence can be collected from these buses or not.
