The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of the man who beat his wife. During this, the judge said that "the husband is responsible for the injury suffered by the wife in the in-laws." The Supreme Court judge said in the meantime, "Even if the injury was caused by another relative, the husband will be responsible for it." Reportedly, this is the third marriage of the person accused of assault, while the second marriage of the woman and both of them gave birth to a child in the year 2018 after one year of marriage. Then in June last year, the woman lodged a complaint with her husband and in-laws in the Ludhiana police. The woman has accused everyone that 'she was beaten brutally by her husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law for not meeting the demand for dowry'.

After the person's lawyer Kushagra Mahajan requested for his client to be granted anticipatory bail, the bench headed by Chief Justice of India SA Bobde said, 'What kind of a man are you? The woman has alleged that her husband was about to strangle her She is alleged to have had an abortion. What kind of man you are who beat his wife with a cricket bat?' During this time, the lawyer said that 'the woman herself has said in the accusation that her father-in-law used to beat her with a bat.'

Hearing this, the bench headed by the CJI said, 'It doesn't matter if your father or you used to hit her with a bat. When a woman gets hurt in the in-laws, the primary responsibility is that of the husband.' In the end, the bench dismissed the person's plea. Earlier the Punjab and Haryana High Court had also refused to give anticipatory bail to her husband.
