Academy of Sciences (NAS) and the National Academy of Medicine (NAM).
the cancer researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology Richard Hynes said, "While it could be used to treat muscular dystrophy, genes could also be manipulated to get muscles enhanced for sports. There is a very thin line there."

ICMR Director General Dr Soumya Swaminathan, while talking about their new mission of Human Science said, "Our main concern is that this technology should not be used for human enhancement."

Dr. Venkatraman ‘Venki’ Ramakrishnan, president of London’s Royal society expressed his idea to help India, saying that "The technology they (India) need to develop will be first used to correct defects in somatic cells. Germline correction is distant future for India."
