Hyderabad: The city police arrested Mohammad Qadir (48), a construction worker from Bidar (Karnataka) on charges of double murder. According to the police, on Sunday night, Qadir went near Nampally railway station and consumed alcohol. He returned to the footpath at Bazarghat, where he demanded money from a resident. On his refusal, Qadir attacked him on the head with a stone, causing his immediate death. Qadir took out Rs 150 and a bottle of liquor from the victim's pocket.

He then went to another person, who was sleeping in an auto trolley. He asked the victim for a place to sleep. When the latter refused, Qadir stoned him to death, Kumar said. According to the CP, footage from surveillance cameras confirmed that Qadir was involved in both murders. He was arrested near the Public Garden and produced in the court and sent to judicial custody.
