Hyderabad: Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Hyderabad on Saturday to participate in the campaign for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election. Shah received a tremendous reception here at Begumpet Airport. Former BJP president Shah then offered obeisance at the Bhagyalakshmi temple in the centre of the district. After visiting the temple, he held a roadshow in Secunderabad. During this time, a huge crowd of people gathered on the road, on which Shah was greeted with flowers. He will then go to the BJP office and hold a press conference.

Elections are to be held in Hyderabad on 1 December next. The BJP is continuously engaged in campaigning on a large scale. Shah will hold a meeting with BJP workers after worship at Bhagyalakshmi temple adjacent to Charminar. BJP's Telangana unit spokesman Subhash said last Saturday, "This election is a fight between the corrupt TRS and the transparent BJP party. This fight is between dictatorship and democracy."

He had informed that the Central leaders of BJP are coming to Hyderabad to expose the corrupt government of TRS. In the process, UP CM Yogi Adityanath reached Hyderabad on Saturday. He did roadshows here and addressed a meeting late in the evening. BJP National President JP Nadda had a roadshow in Hyderabad on Friday. In the wake of the campaign, Adityanath said that some people were asking him whether Hyderabad's name should be changed to Bhagyanagar. He said 'why not'. Not only this, he also gave the example of Prayagraj.
