Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police of Telangana has registered a case against BJP MLA Raghunandan Rao. He is accused of making public the identity of a minor girl by sharing photos and videos of the gang rape of a minor girl in Jubilee Hills. Based on the FIR registered on June 6, a case has been registered against BJP MLA M Raghunandan Rao under Section 228-A of the IPC for disclosing the identity of the minor girl by issuing a photo and a video clip.
The police officer has said that the case was registered late on Monday night and further action would be taken after taking legal advice. It is noteworthy that on June 4, MLA from Dubbak, Telangana, Raghunandan Rao organized a press conference at the BJP State Office, Kattelmandi. During this, he shared a video clip and pictures related to the incident. It is alleged that the identity of the minor victim has been made public in this.
After the registration of the case, the MLA has said that he only wants to make public the evidence of the involvement of the AIMIM leader's son in the gang rape case. Police is giving clean chit to AIMIM leader's son, so they released that video clip. He told the press that he was ready to face trial. Rao, a lawyer by profession, claimed that he would present all the evidence he had in the court when the time came.
Let us inform that this incident is of 28 May 2022. Then the 17-year-old victim was on her way back home after a party. At the same time, she was gang-raped in the Jubilee Hills area of ​​Hyderabad. The matter came to light when the victim's father lodged a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against 5 people under sections 354 and 323 of the IPC and sections 9 and 10 of the POCSO Act. According to the report, the accused had earlier asked the victim to drop her at her house. She was later assaulted inside a parked car and then raped by everyone in turn. During this, the other accused were guarding outside the car. BJP spokesperson K Krishnasagar Rao had accused the Hyderabad Police of investigating under political pressure from AIMIM and TRS.
