HYDERABAD: Telangana Industries and Information Technology Minister K.T. Rama Rao said, Hyderabad continues to solidify its leading position in life sciences, and Genome Valley remains the most favoured investment destination for corporations internationally.

The minister opened Jamp Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd's plant in Genome Valley on Tuesday. This is the company's first plant outside of Canada, and it will cater to regulated markets for solid oral dosage forms, powders, topicals, nasal delivery, and liquid oral pharmaceutical goods.

The facility would be built with a total investment of Rs 250 crore and will employ around 200 employees.

The minister expressed his delight to learn that Jamp Pharma's leadership thoroughly analysed numerous locations in India and throughout the world and determined that Genome Valley was the most appealing place for establishing operations outside of Canada.

"This is a tribute to Telangana's total ecosystem for life sciences as well as the Telangana government's pro-business policies," said KTR, as the minister is known. Sukhad Juneja, Jamp Pharma SVP, Jayesh Ranjan, Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) VC & MD Narsimha Reddy, and Shathi Nagappan, Director, Life Sciences, were all present.
