Telengana CM KCR's 'Chalo Delhi' protest on April 11

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao took steps on Monday to ensure that the "Chalo Delhi protest" on April 11 are a "great success." This will be the TRS's first protest rally in Delhi since taking power in Telangana in 2014, with the goal of increasing pressure on the Centre to buy paddy from Telangana during the rabi season.

On Monday, KCR who arrived in Delhi on Sunday evening, met with TRS MPs to discuss the rally's preparations. He did not say whether he would participate in the dharna in Delhi on April 11th. According to official sources, the CM discussed with the MPs plans to invite leaders of regional parties as well as leaders of farmers unions such as Rakesh Tikait of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) and Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), who spearheaded the Delhi movement against the Centre's farm laws.

State ministers, TRS MLAs, MLCs, MPs, chairpersons of municipalities, zilla parishads, mandal parishads, mayors of municipal corporations, chairpersons of PACS (primary agriculture credit societies), and Rythu Bandhu Samithi leaders from mandal to state-level discussed the arrangements for nearly 10,000 TRS leaders from mandal to state-level to sit on dharna in Delhi.

The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) has requested that TRS representatives meet with Prime Minister Modi and Union Food Minister Piyush Goyal to address paddy procurement. The appointment has yet to be confirmed by the PMO.
