Hyderabad: A man has been detained for selling fake educational certificates by local police after they received several complaints of the habitual offender said a Police official
Muqtar Ahmed, a resident of Hyderabad, has been named as the accused .
The Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, invoked the PD Act against one habitual fake document offender and detained him on Tuesday in Central Prison, Cherlapally, the police official said. "This is part of an ongoing drive against the repeat offenders who have been engaging in financial frauds and collecting enormous amounts from the General Public on one and other pretexts," the official said.
The police said that the accused, along with his friends Mohammed Feroz and Kaleemuddin, devised a scheme to create bogus diplomas and provide them to those in need in exchange for large sums of money.
The police further stated that at first, the accused chose the exam failures and convinced them that the fake certificates could be used to obtain jobs or promotions. As a result, they induced and sold false educational certificates from many colleges, schools, and universities and amassed enormous sums of money.
The Pahadishareef police arrested the suspect in September 2022 and seized multiple bogus certifications, as well as laptops, printers, rubber stamps, and other items. In this scheme, the ringleader Kaleemuddin was previously the subject of a detention order, who was held in Cherlapally's Central Prison in September.
Muqtar Ahmed waslodged in Cherlapally jail.
