India's well-known automobile manufacturer Hyundai Motor India has announced that it is about to launch the T-GDI version of its Hyundai Venue. By the end of this month, this version can be launched with intelligent manual transmission or iMT gearbox. It is a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol version that gives the Venue a new transmission option and provides a hassle-free gear shift. The new iMT option does not have your run-of-the-mill automatic.

It gives you a clutch-free drive. In this, the driver can use the gear lever to change gears and thus maintain the fun of a manual. This technology was first announced in the Kia Sonet subcompact SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo, but Hyundai has outdone the Kia and introduced the technology in Venue, enabling it to maintain its dominance in the segment.

IMT unit with Hyundai Venue T-GDI will come with only two paddles - accelerator and brake. It will also get a 6-speed H pattern with gearshift lever, but here you will not get a clutch to change gears. Instead, Hyundai suggests that the transmission control unit (TCU) receives a signal from the TGS liver protection sensor, indicating the driver's desire to change gears. The TCU then sends a signal to attach the hydraulic actuator to the hydraulic actuator, which is sent through the clutch tube to the concentric slave cylinder (CSC).
