Vidya Balan debuted in Bollywood with her strong acting talent by showing in film Parineeta in 2005. After that, she has done mostly career intense and author-backed roles.

Also recently told a newspaper that isn't cut out for playing a stereotypical Bollywood heroine. She worked in Heyy Babyy (2007) and Kismat Konnection (2008) also.

Stated by the actress, “Both the films got me a lot of criticism personally. I think that really put me off those kinds of films. I think I stood out like a sore thumb in those kind of films. Ineed more to chew into (for a character). I don’t think I gave my 100% in those films. People who do it carry them off so beautifully. I think I am incapable of doing the typical conventional film."

Vidya added, “I need to be constantly excited, which is why I’m also looking to do different kinds of films and diverse parts all the time."

She said in last, "But I’d love to do a nice romantic, or a relationship-based story. I am sorted that way, I'm not competitive at all”.
