The Indian Cricketers Association (ICA) collected Rs 39 lakh to help 30 former cricketers during the nationwide lockdown. Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev also participated in this campaign. ICA President Ashok Malhotra gave this information. Ashok Malhotra told that apart from Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, support of Gautam Gambhir and Gundappa Vishwanath is also being received, which is a big thing. Apart from this, a corporate house in Gujarat has also offered help.

Gavaskar, Kapil and Gambhir also helped themselves. Last week, former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin also offered help. Indian Cricketers Association will accept help by 15 May. After this, 5-6 cricketers will be helped from all the five zones. Help will be given to cricketers who do not do jobs and do not get a pension from BCCI or state associations. The ICA hopes that many of its members will come forward to help in this campaign.

1750 cricketers are registered with ICA. ICA has helped in this fund 10 lakh rupees. This first Cricketers Association of India was formed last year. The ICA received an initial grant of Rs 2 crore to conduct its activities on behalf of the BCCI. Ashok Malhotra said that ICA will help cricketers who have played first-class cricket and whose age is more than 60 years. These cricketers do not work and they do not get any kind of pension.
