ICC to Announce Schedule for ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in Mumbai Event

India is going to host the ICC ODI World Cup in 2023 from October to November. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and ICC are yet to publish the official schedule, however, with only three months remaining until the prestigious tournament In a recent media invite, the ICC announced that they will be holding an event in Mumbai the next week when they intended to make a "key announcement" on the ODI World Cup.

According to media reports, the ICC will announce the tournament schedule on Tuesday, June 27, during a ceremony in Mumbai, according to sources. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. Additionally, on June 27, there will be 100 days until the start of the competition in October. Notably, earlier this month, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) forwarded a draught schedule to the International Cricket Council (ICC), who subsequently forwarded it to the other participating nations.

The host nation, India, has already qualified for the competition. Through the 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa have also attained direct qualification. The World Cup qualifiers now taking place in Zimbabwe will choose two additional teams that will join the aforementioned teams there.

The round-robin format of the tournament's 10 competing teams is anticipated to be followed by the semifinals and the championship game. Even though the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is set to host the final, at least one semifinal could happen there instead. The number of locations that will be chosen to host World Cup games should be made clearer during the ICC event in Mumbai.
