The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has spoken on the indigenous drug of the pandemic. In front of a committee of Parliament, a senior officer of the ICMR told that the clinical trial of the second phase of two indigenous corona vaccine is almost complete. If the government makes a decision, emergency approval will be given to the vaccine.

ICMR Director General Balram Bhargava told the Members of Parliament's Standing Committee on Home Affairs that the drug developed by  Bharat Biotech, Cadila and Serum Institute of India are in different stages of testing. This information was given by an MP present at the meeting.

Made by Bharat Biotech and Cadila, the drug is almost to complete the second stage clinical trials. The MP said that the drug which the serum institute is making with the help of Oxford University has entered Phase-2 (B) of the test last weekend. For this, 1700 patients have been identified at 17 centres across the country. According to the MPs who attended the standing committee meeting, when asked how long people would have to live with the pandemic, Bhargava said that "The last stage test takes six to nine months. But if the government decides, then emergency approval can be given to the drug. This means that ICMR will consider it if the government decides to introduce it quickly while relaxing all the protocols prescribed for medicine".
