New Delhi: The Twitter handles of many Indians have been tampered with on Sunday night. The biggest name among the hacked Twitter handles is that of the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA). The hackers changed the name of this Twitter account to Elon Musk. However, now information is being received that the account of ICWA has been recovered. Tampering with the password or clicking on any link with the wrong intention can be due to the account being hacked.

After the hack of this account, the hackers also hacked the Twitter accounts of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Mann Desi Mahila Bank. The three accounts hacked by hackers were posted to promote cryptocurrencies. IMA's Twitter handle turned its display picture into default immediately after the hacking. The hacking of accounts related to world affairs is a matter of concern as ICWA is an institution of national importance.

A similar incident was seen some time ago during PM Narendra Modi's handle hack. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) had then said, 'PM Narendra Modi's Twitter account has been tampered with. The matter has been conveyed to Twitter and the account was immediately secured. Any tweets shared during the brief period when the account was tampered with should be ignored.'
