Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, stated that those Hamas militants who controlled the Gaza Strip for 16 years have now lost their grip. Galant further mentioned that Hamas fighters are retreating towards southern Gaza.
Galant added, "Hamas' strongholds are being plundered by Palestinian citizens. The people of Gaza have lost faith in the government (Hamas)."
Israel has explicitly stated that the conflict will persist until all Israeli citizens under Hamas control are liberated. The Israeli military is engaged in intense combat. Recently, Israel announced the division of Gaza into two sections, North and South. The Health Ministry run by Hamas claims that dozens of bodies lie on the streets of northern Gaza. As attempts are made to retrieve them, Israeli forces target ambulances.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Monday that the war will persist until Hamas is defeated. He emphasized that this is not just an 'operation' or 'round' but a continuous effort to eliminate the threat posed by the terrorist group. Netanyahu warned that if they don't eliminate Hamas, the threat will resurface.
In the northern Gaza Strip's Al-Shifa Hospital, six newborns and fifteen patients lost their lives due to power cuts and a shortage of medical supplies. Notably, the Israeli military acknowledged targeting a group of Hamas fighters at Al-Quds Hospital among civilians on Monday.
