Mangalagiri: TDP national president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu said, YSRCP goons armed with lethal weapons attacked the TDP central office, which was located between the DGP office and the special police battalion in Mangalagiri. But, the police did not initiate any action till now. But politically motivated cases were being registered against TDP on false allegations of derogatory social media posts. He condemned the arrest of his party's state secretary Gurjala Sandeep Mahadev on Saturday and called it illegal and atrocious. Naidu said Sandeep was picked up and his family members were taken away without revealing his whereabouts.
For posting just one comment on social media, the TDP leader was being harassed. Naidu said the Supreme Court had objected to arrest of anyone for posting certain remarks on social media criticizing the government. The top court had also warned the police in this regard. A division bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Indira Banerjee made it clear that every citizen of India has the right to freedom of expression under Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution.
Naidu termed as chaotic taking the arrested TDP leader to various unknown places without giving any information about his security. The Chief Minister should understand that if the harassment of Sandeep Mahadev is not stopped immediately, it will have dire consequences. The TDP chief said his party would pay with full interest every attack and false arrest by the Jagan Mohan Reddy regime. No one can escape punishment for crossing the 'Lakshman Rekha' drawn by the Constitution. Sandeep Mahadev should be released immediately to uphold the rule of law and protect democratic values.
