New Delhi: Team India opener Shubman Gill has been successful in making a tremendous impression in a short time. He has wreaked havoc with the bat in international cricket and IPL. Gill, who is part of Gujarat Titans (GT), was the highest run-scorer in IPL 2023. He won the Orange Cap by scoring 890 runs in 17 matches at an average of 59.33 and a strike rate of 157.80.

Along with this, Shubman Gill scored 3 centuries and 6 centuries in the 16th season. Due to which Gill is being highly praised. Former Pakistan captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram has also become a fan of his batting. Akram has described Gill as a future superstar and future captain of Team India. Akram compared Gill to master blaster and god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar. He said that bowling to Gill is like bowling to Sachin.

Akram further said, "I am talking as a bowler. When I bowl to a batsman like Gill. Even if it is a T20 format. It's like I'm bowling to Sachin Tendulkar in the first 10 overs in ODI cricket. When only 2 players were allowed (outside the 30 yard circle). If I have to bowl to Sanath Jayasuriya and Kaluvitarne, I know I have a chance. I can get them out, because they hit shots on every ball. But, whether Sachin or Gill type players, I know they will hit proper cricketing shots. I believe Gill is the only batsman in the current era who will score runs with consistency in all three formats. He is the future superstar of world cricket."
