New Delhi: Pakistan, which has been isolated for a long time in world cricket, now seems to be alone in Asia. Due to the situation of confrontation with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over hosting the Asia Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board is blaming other countries. Pakistan has rejected the offer to play an ODI series with Sri Lanka. The reason for this is that Sri Lanka has proposed to host the Asia Cup.

In fact, there has been a conflict in Pakistan since last year regarding the proposed Asia Cup this year. BCCI secretary and Asian Cricket Council chief Jay Shah had made it clear in 2022 that Team India will not go to Pakistan to play cricket and the Asia Cup will be played in a third country. After this, PCB chief Najam Sethi talked about the hybrid model, under which 4 matches were proposed to be played in Pakistan and the remaining matches in a third country.

The PCB's hybrid model has also not received BCCI's approval and amidst all this, Sri Lanka has offered to hold the entire tournament in their country. Reports quoting sources in the Pakistani board have informed that this move of Cricket Sri Lanka has angered the PCB. Pakistan and Sri Lanka are scheduled to play a two-match series under the World Test Championship (WTC) in July. This series is going to be held in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan board had also proposed a 3-match ODI series with this series in front of Pakistan. The Pakistani board had initially shown a positive attitude towards this, but now after Sri Lanka's stand on the Asia Cup, they have completely rejected this series.
